What is PASCAM Bea?

PASCAM Bea is based on the logical development of the semantic feature technology of PASCAM WoodWorks. It provides the designer with all the typical, woodworking CNC features - in addition to the common SOLIDWORKS® geometry features - in order to be able to model woodworking products in a comprehensive, manufacturing-oriented way, strictly following the "designed for manufacturing" (DFM) approach. PASCAM Bea is fully and seamlessly integrated into SOLIDWORKS®, and works closely with the woodworking CAD-engineering solution PASCAM Woodworks.

Together with PASCAM Woodworks it is possible to create an integrated CAx chain, starting with the modelling and design process, the subsequent determination of accounting and billing, the optional drawing export and BOM list generation and finally right up to the CNC programming, all based on the same SOLIDWORKS® 3D model.

By integrating our woodworking CAD/CAM system in the market-leading, feature-based 3D-CAD system SOLIDWORKS®, PASCAM is providing advanced "design for manufacturing" methods in woodworking. This manufacturing-oriented modeling along the entire process chain from design to manufacturing, is ensuring reliable data integration, helping to avoid costly mistakes and achieve significant time savings.

Successful operational application of our integrated woodworking CAD/CAM system in the international woodworking sector confirm the efficient use of PASCAM Bea at all manufacturing requirements (see also the list of PASCAM reference companies). This was already shown at the beta phase of the development, when it was thoroughly analysed as part of a thesis at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim. Here you can see the key messages of the results of this thesis.
