Pocket machining extensions

Due to the fact that pocket machining operations necessarily feature closed contours, some special automation and optimization methods can be employed.
For example, users can optionally choose not to specify a concrete starting point for pocket machining. In this case, PASCAM Bea automatically selects the best starting point and divides the contour as required. Contour-parallel Lead-In / Lead-Out methods are also available to allow the tool to descend smoothly into the material when machining the workpiece and to avoid mere cutting with the face side of the milling tool.
For through pockets, special methods can be used to enable a Lead-In strategy with at a specified distance to avoid any tearouts outside the finished contour when piercing through the bottom of the workpiece.
For multiple infeeds, users can set to use optimized infeed strategies for "Pockets with depth" that are gentle on the tool and save time. The distinction is made automatically by PASCAM Bea to allow efficient parametric programming.
The use of the corresponding algorithms is independent of whether the area of the pocket itself is machined or only its outside contour has to be machined.
