The principle of locality

This novel design principle - still scarcely known in design practices up to now - takes the feature modeling concept to another level and applies it to all available variants of a model: All design changes are made exactly there where they are needed!
The local points of intervention are clearly defined and therefore fully under user control. Releasing versions of the individual stages in the design process can be done safely, because all modifications can be reviewed without a hurry and the behavior of the model can be studied thoroughly. Since a manufacturing-ready product model does contain more than just the geometry, all other existing set of data, such as CNC technology or meta information, can also be reviewed and documented in advance. Since PASCAM does store all relevant data of the model in the SOLIDWORKS model itself, maximum consistency of the individual data sets is guaranteed, always verified and reviewed on the basis of the existing set of rules.
PASCAM provides different tools to control the model design via automated processes. For example, internal connection of rule sets can be established automatically or new rule behavior can be implemented into the model through external control. Depending on the needs and requirements of the user company.
