User intervention at all times

Every automation system has its limits.
The decisive factor is that the users always have the option to intervene in running processes at any time in order to expand these limits if necessary. User interventions can either be defined in advance as an option, or the automated process detects a problem that it cannot solve on its own and requests the user to intervene as a higher-level instance.
Notification takes place either via process monitoring or via an existing PDM system.
This solves a very important aspect of an automation system: When problems occur, the capacity of the users is used to eliminate problems in a quick and flexible manner.
