At a product configuration
process, it's not easy to determine in
advance whether a certain characteristic is
only feasible under certain conditions or if
it is feasible at all due to the extremely
high variance of optional characteristics.
However, due to the model-based
design knowledge contained in the
virtual model, PASCAM can determine the
feasibility in advance and is able to
automatically determine whether a particular
product configuration can be accepted or
whether it may cause additional costs that
are too high.

the sense of its design, its
manufacturability at the existing
production line has to be evaluated as well.

by including external sub-contractors in the
